I wanna talk about this because I’ve spent 2 days sailing to and fro doing some interviews at recruitment agencies. I know it’s not an efficient way but who’s done nothing change nothing.
I mean normally, first you apply for a vacany post in the Internet, then they will call you. But since last time I achieved my actual (last) job is by going directly to the agency and doing the interview on the same day.
Until now, I haven’t been interviewed by clients and I am not looking for any post that come up at the first time. I have time and in case I don’t find any, I’ll got my monthly payment for 18 months from Seguridad Social (sosial security for unemployment, sounds terrific). That is why I have to choose a better post than the last time I had.
Anyway, yesterday and today I have passed some interviews and all I can say is the result of this is depend on the interviewer, the person in charge of interviewing you as a candidat.
Some of them ask close question that you don’t have any chance to extend the answer (chance to show off your skill and knowledge) and another thing is that I got 2 or 3 interviews in the same day that I finally felt stuck and dreary in repeating all my career trayectory.
In one ocasion I asked the interviewer to describe me more about the tasks that I would be doing in that post (to show my interest in this job) and she seemed doesn’t have more information, so she said: “The usual tasks of this profesion that you’ve already know. You know better about this than I do”.
Hah…I was quite surprised. Sometime this people want to get the job done soon, they don’t care what you can do, what you can’t, what would you like to do, your aim, your ambition, your past - I mean…hey it’s your job to find the right people for your client.
A curious thing is I can be nervous in some interviews and others don’t. I got nervous when I have to wait for my turn for example. What kind of person the interviewer is also could make me feel nervous or stuck.
I guess my interview goes well when I feel: sad (when my dog died i.e.), when I’m tired (like today, I was about to sleep in the subway on my way to the agency). At the moment of the interview, all I think was: come on, ask me anything and let’s get finish. I speak fluently without being nervous. The right word in bahasa indonesia is: PASRAH (no other word can explain better than this).
And yes, after three or four interviews finally you control the situation, and the most important thing: don’t lie.
Just be your self, think about nice conversation - the person who will interview you, is only a person, he/she makes fault, also an employee like you, has a family, problem, etc. Doesn’t mean you can treat him like your own pal, I mean talk to him in a natural way - but also give him good impresion.
And another important thing, describe as much as possible what you’ve done in the previous job (this is also important to put it on your CV) then you can go back to describe your first job after you graduated until before your last job - this part describes how your career goes up bit by bit.
Wear comfortable clothes but always neat.
Maybe I’m not the right person to talk about this since I haven’t achieved anything better. But this is only my observation about my recent experience. And you may guess that my way to success (blah!) is still long, a lot of interviews are coming up….
You know I’ve been doing nothing for 2 weeks and it was hard to tell my self: come on, wake up earlier, get dress and look for a job. You have to face it, once you’ve done it, you feel easier. You realized that you’re not the only one who’s looking for job in the entire planet.
Arriba! arriba! Animo!

hola
^^ selalu menyenangkan membaca tulisan naga. heheee down to earth & real to the core.
Mengapakah naga tidak mencari job permanen, daripada temporari yang seringkali tidak kondisinya. sori, pertanyaannya personal, gpp kalo tidak terjawab
Naga says: Mac, if you go to recruitmen agency they don’t always offer you temporal contract. They got a better offer rather than if you look for your self for companies that recruit directly by announcemet in newspaper. I’ve been there before.
Right now it doesn’t matter if I got temporal contract as long as the salary is the same amount as I have now, because when i suscribe as unemployment, the SS (social security) will account from the base of the last 6 months of your salary. And sometimes if you move around in so many companies for sometime, you got better experience- I guess. I’ve just quick after 4 years in the same company, I long for a change…
« I’ll got my payment monthly for 18 months from Seguridad Social »
ciao ciao
“I hope you enjoy it! dolce vita nene…”
